Overrated Top 5

This is a quick list of the top 5 things I think are the most overrated.

5) Alan Moore.
I'm surprised the author isn't higher on my list for how much I have to defend my stance on him. He's the author behind several comics made to movies: The Watchmen, V for Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and more. One of my major qualms with him, is that as a comic reader, I'm supposed to like him. Watchmen is considered the single greatest graphic novel of all time, so much so, the TIME magazine rated it as one of the top 100 books. I found it painful to read through and so pretentious. He wrote the story for the simple reason that he decided comics needed to change. That's his approach for each of his 'great' stories. Apparently the entire medium of comics should live and die on his whims

4) Lord of the Rings.
J.R.R. Tolkien wrote the trilogy like a dictionary. There is no defense for it, his writing was boring. Was he imaginative? Yes, but that doesn't mean I want to read 200 pages of walking before something entertaining happens. Proof that the Lord of the Rings could have been good is the Hobbit. This story takes place before the main trilogy, but because it doesn't focus on an endless walk, Tolkien is able to focus on what matters to the story

3) Star Wars.
I'm not even talking about the three prequels that came out, the original Star Wars are overrated. These were the Greek tragedies set in space. I don't know why so many people are so devoted to these movies but I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who didn't drink the kool-aid. The hero of the movies was a whiny bitch that hooked up with his sister. No wonder he had daddy issues. The two best characters were, a hairball that can't speak English, and a guy with a jetpack that chose not to speak. How does that bode well for the main characters that have to carry the movie?

2) The Beatles.
Yup, I said it. Aside from 3-4 good songs, the Beatles were and are overrated. Maybe its because I never did drugs, but Sgt Pepper's... and Yellow Submarine were ridiculous. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" LSD, clever drug reference, but so what doesn't make it a good song. Someone once made the argument that they changed the way music was made... so did temple eunuchs. Doesn't make the altos good singers. The best thing the Beatles did was the "Paul is Dead" conspiracy theory that Paul McCartney died in a car crash in the 60's (I think) and was replaced with a look alike.

Obviously this whole list is my personal feelings, but this one is quite literally my personal taste.
1) Mac & Cheese
It is so bland. I love cheese, I love pasta, but together they are just painfully bland. No matter what cheese I've had it with, the end result is a boring meal. Despite what spices or herbs are added , while the blandness may improve another factor remains, texture. There is no texture diversity within a mouthful or even from bite to bite. Sure you could add bacon, or broccoli, or mushrooms to make it better, but then it's not mac and cheese; it's mac and cheese and...
