WWE Predictions: Wrestlemania 33

WWE Predictions: Wrestlemania 33

Hello and welcome back for the biggest installment to AzarRising's WWE Predictions. If you've been paying attention, we've got some exciting news for this edition. Things are going to be a little different from here on out, as we've doubled in size.

Wrestlemania Poster.png

Along with Pink and myself, we've got Brundan and Ryan joining us on the predictions and Wredo-a-Wrestler.

As such the previous score between Pink and I will be erased, which is nice timing since I tied it up, and the format here will be a little different.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Similar to how Pink and I had three votes each for the Royal Rumble, we're going to be doing the same here. First vote scores 3 points, second vote score 2 points, and third vote scores 1 point.

Ryan: I'd bet everything I got on this one. Strowman is takin this one to the bank. I'm a lil upset he doesn't get his own match actually. I'd try to find a way to get Styles to fight him. Two top talents that r in two throw away matches. Tsk tsk. - Braun Strowman #1 - Sami Zayn #2 - Big Show #3

Brundan: Basically this is the let’s get everyone paid battle royal.  Braun should win as he has the most upside.  However I could see Sami Zayn over coming all odds and pulling it out in the end.  They added a guy from NXT last night, Killian Dain. I could see him surprising like Corbin did last year. They need a standoff between him and Braun, this guy is a beast.  Hopefully though BRAUN wins and continues he domination. - Braun Strowman #1 - Sami Zayn #2 - Killian Dain #3

Pink: (Pink doesn't think this match deserves commentary on his picks) - Big Show #1 - Dolph Ziggler #2 - Mark Henry #3

Double A: With teases that Shaq may still be involved I’m going to assume that he eliminates Big Show leaving Braun Strowman a clear path to his first significant victory, if in fact you consider this match significant. Besides, he needs a win at Wrestlemania to continue his push. - Braun Strowman #1 - Big Show #2 - Sami Zayn #3

Neville (c) v Austin Aries (Cruiserweight Championship match)

Brundan: This is one of those matches that could go either way.  Both these guys are easily the best thing about 205 live right now.  The Cruiserweight belt hasn’t had a long run yet so I am going to go with Neville.  I think Tozawa or Metalik will challenge him next. - Neville

Pink: I think Neville is a good Champ, but I'm going to go with the with the guy the fans like. And WWE is probably going to use this stage to move this guy up into a more Main Event role. - Austin Aries

Double A: What Mr. Austin Aries may not know, is that he is my mortal enemy, my most heated rival, he is Moriarty to my Sherlock Holmes, before there was the stupid moniker of “A Double” there was the magnificent Double A. As such my voting must always be against him. Even if I think he may win… - Neville

Ryan: This match should be amazing. Neville has climbed up my favs list and I want him so badly to keep this title bc he's Makin it legit...I think the overrated Austin will take it though. So I'll b cheering for Neville but I'm sure I'll be cursing at the tv when Austin wins :( - Austin Aries

Alexa Bliss (c) v Beckly Lynch v Natalya v Mickie James v Carmella (w/James Ellsworth) v Naomi (Six-Pack Smackdown Women's Championship match)

Double A - The fact they changed this match from “all available women” to a six-pack challenge once Naomi returned, and that WM is being held in her hometown, I think it’s pretty clear she’s going to win - Naomi

Ryan - originally I had Bliss for the win since she's done a great job and no real rivalry is in this rumble but then the black lights hit! Although I'm not happy about it. Niaomi will be getting her belt back come wrestlemania! - Naomi

Brundan: I think the late addition Naomi takes this one.  She is a home town girl and would have been coming into this champion if not for a freak injury.  I love Becky and if it was up to me she would be champ for life, however it’s what I think not what I wish. - Naomi

Pink: I don't think her time was up just yet, and Hometown girls will win. - Naomi

Main Card

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (c) v Enzo Amore & Big Cass v Cesaro & Sheamus (Raw Tag team Championship match)

Pink: I think it is time they drop the hammer on them, and see if this thing can really take off and make this team a real contender. If it doesn't at least it is know and maybe Big Cass can work his way into a more singles role. - Enzo Amore & Big Cass

Double A: The truth of the matter is, I have no opinion on this match, but I love Cesaro so much, I want him to win every match he’s in. Hopefully this match can be the beginning of Big Cass making it on his own. I like the potential of Gallows and Anderson, but have no faith in WWE capitalizing on them anymore. Also with rumors that the Hardy boys are returning, and this being changed to a ladder match late in the planning, I expect them to interfere and screw Gallows & Anderson (if they indeed show up) - Cesaro & Sheamus

Ryan: This could go anyway. I'd like to see Enzo and Cass take it but they may let gallows and crew keep it. Sheamus and Swedish Superman got no chance here. I'll go for it and predict Enzo and Big C! - Enzo Amore & Big Cass

Brundan: I actually like all three teams a lot and I think Wrestlemania will be the place when Enzo and Cass finally get the big win.    It would be great to see them have the “Wrestlemania Moment.”  They never got it in NXT despite being the most popular tag team there. - Enzo Amore & Big Cass

Dean Ambrose (c) v Baron Corbin (Intercontinental Championship match)

Brundan:  I think like Strowman, Corbin is set for a big 2017 and this is the start.  People might forget his main roster debut was last Wrestlemania winning the Andre Battle royal so after this year he will be 2 for 2.  Start of a new streak? - Baron Corbin

Ryan: Hate both these guys. So I'll be refilling my drink for this one. Ambrose with the win since Corbin lacks everything besides the look. They can't put the strap on someone like that. Ambrose wins. Chances of being wrong 5% - Dean Ambrose

Double A: I know a lot of people have soured on Ambrose, and the right thing would be to give the belt to Corbin to elevate him, but… screw it, I’m changing my vote. Baron Corbin will win. On the other hand, all of the buildup has been in favor of Corbin, meaning Dean Ambrose is due the win. I’m sticking with Dean - Dean Ambrose

Pink: WWE has been behind him since last WrestleMania, and I think it is time to gave him a title to match the support. Plus this is a feud that can go for a couple of PPV. - Baron Corbin

John Cena and Nikki Bella v The Miz and Maryse (Mixed tag team match)

Pink: The Faces are going to win. I really want the Miz to win, but this is not going to happen. I would even take the lost on the match with no problem if that would happen. - John Cena and Nikki Bella

Brundan: Eh Cena and Nikki win.  I can’t stand the Miz.  Moving on…. - John Cena and Nikki Bella

Ryan: This is a easy one. Cena and Nikki wit win. Big kiss at the end along wit them doin their finishers at the same time yet again. Chances of me being wrong 0% - John Cena and Nikki Bella

Double A: I know, I know this is Cena and he’s not supposed to lose at ‘Mania, especially against someone like The Miz, but that’s exactly the point, The Miz has already beaten Cena at ‘Mania, and he could use this second victory to propel a new storyline where he’s got his own streak at ‘Mania, something that no one else can claim (as far as I’m aware). You can still have Cena propose to Bella like everyone predicts, and it could turn the defeat for them into an endearing moment, which should get a pop, even a small one from the crowd. Besides, look at Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth at Wrestlemania VII, he lost his match to Ultimate Warrior, but it ended on a feel good moment of the two of them reuniting. The Miz & Maryse

Chris Jericho (c) v Kevin Owens (United States Championship match)

Double A: In what has the potential to be the match of the night, I’m going with them giving the belt to Owens. Not just because it seems obvious Jericho will be leaving shortly after ‘Mania but because Owens deserves the gold after the bullshit that happened at Fastlane and him losing the Universal belt to Goldberg - Kevin Owens

Pink: Only reason is I think Jericho is coming to the end of this run before he disappears. And Jericho is more about getting the Superstars he thinks should be in the light over. - Kevin Owens

Brundan: I could see this going either way, but I doubt that this match will be the end of this feud.  I believe this will steal the show and Owens will rebound after losing so quickly last PPV.  I think this feud will go until and finish at Extreme Rules in a few months. - Kevin Owens

Ryan: Tough call here...The best build up to a match on the card. I'm puttin my money on KO. Passing the torch on this one I feel. Y2J hasn't done much wit the belt. So time to give it to KO. Chances of being wrong 25% just because. - Kevin Owens

Bayley (c) v Charlotte Flair v Sasha Banks v Nia Jax (Raw Women's Championship match)

Ryan: The 3 hotties will be team up and eliminate the big gal first so peace out Nia. Charlotte will someone be eliminated after but she won't leave until she gives Bayley a extra beating before she is exits. Sasha will try to take advantage but with no luck. Bayley gets her in a small package for the win. Sasha will then freak out and turn heel. - Bayley

Double A: It seems telegraphed that Nia will be the first eliminated with the others teaming against her, but I’d like to see her instead eliminate Bailey almost immediately from the match. The Charlotte and Sasha can eliminate her, and it could end with a nice battle between the two remaining women. I don’t think that’ll happen, and I foresee the Sasha heel turn happening here, but with that being Charlotte’s talking point the past few weeks, it’d be cool to see them swerve us. - Sasha Banks

Pink: I don't think they should take it away from Bayley, but I know they are going to. And the real winner is probably going to be Charlotte. I think just to pad that number again. Bayley

Brundan: I hate this match so much.  Everything is wrong about it.  This should be Bayley vs Charlotte one on one with Charlotte still Champion and her streak intact.  Bayley wins the crowd goes insane and everyone is happy.  But no, instead we get an elimination four way with no PPV streak and Bayley all ready champion.  My predication is the three girls team up on Nia and eliminate her early, then Bayley gets Sasha eliminated somehow and then wins against Charlotte.  Later they could have Banks turn on Bayley and hopefully it could lead to a great PPV match at Summerslam, but I won’t hold my breathe. - Bayley

Shane McMahon v AJ Styles

Pink: Because Shane better not win, and because he should not be in this match. - AJ Styles

Brundan: What a waste of AJ styles, would should be fighting Cena.  Instead we get Shane and his terrible punches.  This will be good because AJ is the best wrestler in the world and Shane will do something crazy. AJ wins and hopefully will Main Event Wrestlemania next year. - AJ Styles

Ryan: This shoulda been AJ vs HBK but HBK declined! Damn him! There will be a lot of holy shit chants since these dudes will b flyin', but at the end of the day...AJ with the obv win. Chances of me being wrong 0% - AJ Styles

Double A: I mean honestly, if AJ doesn’t win, he should legit just quit the WWE and go anywhere making top dollar. He deserves so much better than this. I get it, fighting a McMahon is a marquee match as far as WWE is concerned, but he is the best in ring worker they have, he shouldn’t be fighting Shane, who can only jump off of things. - AJ Styles

The Undertaker v Roman Reigns

Brundan: I love Undertaker but this has to be it.  He looks more like an actual Dead Man every year.  This is another match I could see going either way because it’s Taker at mania and Roman is the Golden goose.  I’ll go with Undertaker and he hangs it up this year. - Undertaker

Ryan: DAMN! This one is the toughest one yet. I'm goin back and fourth. You got to think it's Takers last one and he's gonna get beat by roman...but by doin that it takes away from Brock's big 21 and 1...then again does Brock even need that now? Ugh. I want Roman to get beat but I can't see it. Sadly Roman wins after a bunch of spears and superman punches. - Roman Reigns

Double A: Undertaker should win. Undertaker should never have lost at Wrestlemania. Undertaker should be allowed to retire at ‘Mania with the belt. He should be allowed to retire with every belt currently active in the WWE, hell even belts that have been long defunct. I want Undertaker to win, however we’re supposed to be picking who we think actually will win, and WWE has invested so much into Roman Reigns, and if they’re ever going to turn him heel they have to do it with a dirty win over Taker at ‘Mania. I typically cast votes with my heart, which is why I predict I will lose many times. For some reason, I can’t ignore the writing on the wall for this match, Taker is eating his second loss at the big show to establish the new top heel on Raw. - Roman Reigns

Pink: It's Taker, and this will be a good thing for the Reigns turn to Heel. Cause after the match he can shit on the fans for getting what they wanted, and even on any of the Superstars that were against him. - The Undertaker

Seth Rollins v Triple H (Non-sanctioned match)

Ryan: The king of kings will b taken outby the returning Rollins. The match will be solid and always good to see a epic trips entrance. Rollins gets the win. Chances of me being wrong 25% if Joe interferes. - Seth Rollins

Double A: I don’t know how you have an actual winner in a non-sanctioned match, but with Samoa Joe not being on the card at all, don’t be surprised to see him interfere on HHH’s behalf. This would extend the feud between the two, allowing Rollins to fully recover and have the proper match that the two should have at a later date. No matter who wins, expect this to be a weapon heavy bout so Rollins’ knee can be protected as much as possible.  - Triple H

Pink: Cause this is the set up for a bigger match down the road. And Seth needs to win for that story to move in that direction. If Trip wins there is no reason for him to take any on the other matches Seth will be asking for. - Seth Rollins

Brundan: I really want to be more excited for this match because I like Seth but I have not cared about anything Triple H has done since him and Roman put me to sleep in the main event last year.  I don’t think this will be the last of these two fighting as I think Samoa Joe gets involved and they screw Seth.  Triple H wins and Seth feuds with Joe until he fights H again, maybe at Summerslam. - Triple H

Goldberg (c) v Brock Lesnar (Universal Championship match)

Double A: Every reason why I never wanted Brock to win the belt a few years ago is why I want him to beat Goldberg for it. Neither man deserves the top belt. This match would have meant just as much if the belt wasn’t on the line, but since we’re living in a world where two part timers are fighting for the main belt at the biggest event of the year, I’d at least want the one part timer that can wrestle more than 2 minutes to have the belt. What I would like to see happen, but won't is for Goldberg try for the spear while Lesnar still has his shirt on, he stops short and reveals that Lesnar's got the steel plate like Brett Hart did back in WCW. The distraction is enough for Lesnar to hit the F5. Doubt that'll happen though. Also ideally, what I would like to happen, but know certainly won’t, is for Kevin Owens to demand his rematch against whoever wins, which Triple H will grant since they are buddy buddy after all, and take the belt from whoever has the belt after the match. - Brock Lesnar

Pink: This is the equalizer for all the lost match at the hands of Goldberg. Plus this can be the way to get the Title into someone that can actually do something in the ring for more that 2 minutes. - Brock Lesnar

Brundan: I swear if this goes more then 5 minutes Goldberg might die in the ring.  This is either going to be amazing or a train wreak of Wrestlemania 20 proportions.  I believe Lesnar wins because I don’t see Goldberg coming back after Mania. - Brock Lesnar

Ryan: I'm thinkin' we're gonna see Goldberg get a quick Goldberg style beating by Brock. 2 or 3 quick F-5s will go down and Brock will get that belt back in under 2 Mins...regardless on length. Brock wins. - Brock Lesnar

Bray Wyatt (c) v Randy Orton (WWE Championship match)

Double A: This is one of those instances where what I want to happen, and what I think will happen actually line up. Bray Wyatt deserves to keep the belt, and beating Randy will cement his status as a main eventer, no matter when/how he loses the belt afterwards. Does Erik Rowan return to help Wyatt keep the belt? Maybe, but either way, Bray should beat Orton, and in a decisive way to make him the figurehead he should have been years ago.  - Bray Wyatt

Ryan: A odd build up with the burning of Bray's shack, but the Viper's poison will not be enough come Wrestlemania. The Wyatt Family will be saying hello and making sure that Bray keeps that title. He's got the whole world in his hands for crying out loud. - Bray Wyatt

Pink: Bray has to keep the Championship!!! Randy can see that mind games don't work on him. But I think Bray keeps it isn't cause he can do it by himself, but cause AJ wanted the match against Bray and Randy took that from him. And he is going to make sure he gets that match for a later day. - Bray Wyatt

Brundan: I like Bray and wish he would have gotten a longer run at the top but I see Randy winning and eventually feuding down the line with AJ.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this steals the show as Randy Orton has had a ton of great matches with different guys over the years. - Randy Orton
