I'm Back Bitches!

I'm Back Bitches!

My first post of 2019 is to happily and proudly announce I am almost done with the final edits to my next novel! This is a sequel to the award winning Nightmare Noir. Stay tuned for more exciting info as it develops.

With that said, I need to explain my absence these past few months. One night in October I was up late at night, unable to sleep thinking about the above mentioned novel, and realized I hadn’t actually written a word in it for a few weeks. Then I thought about it more, and I realized those few weeks were actually about two months. Two months that I hadn’t written what was supposed to be the most important project at the time, but I kept letting myself get distracted.

Distracted with little writing odds and ends, distracted with the next big project, this website, Rising from the Crypt, distracted with the new house, my fiance, family, friends (the close few that I have) and just distracted by life. Now, some of these 'distractions' mean more to me than I'm implying, but it goes to prove my point. Since 2015, when “Nightmare Noir” was published, I've been working on this novel sequel. It's taken way too long, and progress has been halfassed, but I allowed it. I became complacent in my writing.

That night in October it hit me, and I decided to double, even triple my resolve. Since then, I've spent as much time as I could working on the novel, and as I stated above, I am working on the final edits. However, the downside to that renewed dedication, is that my attention to this website fell by the wayside.

I'm not going to promise that I'll be back here posting every day, but I am at a place where I can contribute more often again. Like this post here, and any updates about the novel as they develop, new “What I'm Reading” and since I skipped my annual Halloween horror story, I have a special short story ready for someone's birthday, later this month. Also finally, I will not be posting my annual list of goals to accomplish. While I have set myself certain objectives like I always do, this year I want to focus on the accomplishments I do make, not the ones I plan to.

Come back for more in the new year with this same old asshole. Enjoy it!
