As we Lay Down to Sleep

As we Lay Down to Sleep

Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like you to welcome back to AzarRising my frequent collaborator and guest writer, Sable. Today she brings you a poem written off a simple Halloween themed prompt I gave her, a cursed object, and as always she knocked it out of the park.

As we Lay Down to Sleep

a poem by Sable Diakos

In the wind it rocked all night

Through the howling wind that swept the trees

The creek was comforting as we laid down to sleep

So long as there was a breeze

But in the silence of the night

When the earth would lay ever so still

The chair would rock on

Against its own will

And that's when our blood would run cold

Unable to tell what was wrong

But we knew something wasn't right

As we laid down, tucked for bed in fright.

Stay creepy my haunted friends and come back for more Halloween delights.
