Hot Takes Now 5/29/2019

Coming back at you with another edition of Hot Takes Now, where I share my predictions and Mr. Sinister plans for upcoming WWE television.

Typically these HTN are going to contain one Raw and one Smackdown Live! prediction, but this time we have two overall WWE thoughts.

First one concerns Mr. Money in the Bank, Brock Lesnar, and is admittedly a petty one. I know Vince doesn’t have the balls to do this, but I would love to see Brock cash in the briefcase on Seth Rollins immediately after his match with Baron Corbin at Super Showdown, and as soon as the bell rings, Seth low blows Brock. Seth would lose via DQ, however retain the belt, and Brock’s cash in would be ruined. However, if anything even remotely similar does occur, Brock will unfortunately remain in the title picture regardless. Whatever happens, I don’t want to see Kofi’s first run with the belt ruined by Brock, hence my insistence that Brock sticks with Raw, for better or worse.

Next one up deals with WWE’s new competition on the block, AEW. In three hours of Raw there was a total of four wrestling matches (not including whatever mess R-Truth got into), and one of those matches was Shane McMahon vs Lance Anoa’i, Roman Reigns cousin. We’re left with three wrestling matches in a three hour show. I want to remind everyone reading, that this was the first WWE show after AEW’s Double or Nothing, a spectacular show, with some amazing matches. I can’t understand how Vince sees, or even just hears about, this rival PPV that showcased what a wrestling heavy card could do with virtually zero on screen build and he decides to put on a show of only three matches. Smackdown on the other hand, started strong with a great match between Kevin Owens and champ Kofi Kingston, however, overall it was a lackluster night of action.

With all that said, my hot take is this; in 2-3 weeks time we’re going to see a distinct change in the type of shows Vince produces with Raw and/or Smackdown. Expect to see more wrestling heavy shows, expect to see Bray Wyatt actually re-debut in the ring taking his arc to its natural progression, and expect to see a more focused presentation when it comes to title pictures.

Watch to see these hot takes unfold.

Keep reading, and remember to enjoy life.
